About Tanz der Kulturen e.V.
As an institution of adult education, Tanz der Kulturen is specialised in ritual dance pedagogy with live music as a transcultural method for personality strengthening and group building. The method is taught in a training for dance enthusiasts and pedagogues in Hamburg and offers open dance pedagogical workshops and events. In addition, socio-cultural adult education projects are realised on a national level, as well as with international cooperation partners and highly qualified educators and artists. With the performance project, the association also dares to establish from the safe workshop space the dance ritual with live music as a public production in the field of performing arts. Through Erasmus+, Tanz der Kulturen had leaded two KA2 projects.

Project 1
- The project aims to systematize transcultural concepts of animistic dance in a vocational training method, creating pedagogical content to be disseminated through lectures at academic conferences, training sessions, workshops, and performances. The method is based on previously developed research into folkloric and traditional expressions from diverse ethnicities and cultures in countries such as Bulgaria, Senegal, Gambia, and Brazil. Embracing the interculturality and diversity of these traditions, the consortium will collaborate on establishing common grounds for organizing the procedures involved in developing the method.
Project 2
- We are looking for partners to develop together dance practices between traditional/animistic cultures and contemporary expressions, for developing a teaching concept as adult educational program.
Project 3
- We are looking for partners who could bring inside the organisation digital tools for enhancing the quality of communication of dance educational programs.
